Advanced Overlocking:
Saturday 8th April 10am - 4pm, £70

Are you afraid of your overlocker? There's so much more that you can do with these great machines; join Bridget to find out more about:

- Threads and needles
- Threading the overlocker
- Stitch lengths and widths (4 - thread)
- Differential feed and how to adjust to prevent pushing and fluting
- Gathering on the overlocker
- 3 - thread overlocking
- Rolled hem
- Turning corners - outside and inside edges
- Machining curves - concave and convex

There will be a folder with information sheets and sample making fabrics - all included in price.

The skills learned or ‘honed’ on the course will then be put into practice making a handy waste chip bin - all materials will be provided. *The final making of the waste chip bin is done on an ordinary sewing machine but instructions on how to finish will be included in the folder.

You will need to bring your overlocker and basic sewing equipment. If you can bring four different coloured overlocking threads to match your threading guide it helps to clearly show the positioning of the looper and needle threads!

Refreshments will be provided, but please bring along a packed lunch.

The workshop is with Bridget Goodhead. Bridget is a retired teacher. For many years she taught Design Technology and for 15 years, also taught nightschool, where the ladies did a variety of needlecrafts from dressmaking to machine knitting, embroidery and macrame (to name a few!)
