Basic Dressmaking


Basic Dressmaking:
Saturday 18th March 10 - 4, £70

You will learn:

- Stay stitching
- Seams - open; flat/double stitched and French
- Disposal of fullness - darts; pleats; tucks and gathering
- Zips - concealed and semi-concealed
- Top stitching and understitching
- Reducing bulk - curves and corners
- Buttonholes

There will be a folder with information sheets and sample making fabrics/accessories - all included in price. You will need to bring your sewing machine; cut out pattern and basic sewing equipment.

If you're not sure about how to use a pattern then why not come on Bridget's 'Using a commercial pattern' workshop; a perfect introduction to get you prepared for the basic dressmaking Workshop. Book both day workshops for £120

Refreshments will be provided, but please bring along a packed lunch.

The workshop is with Bridget Goodhead. Bridget is a retired teacher. For many years she taught Design Technology and for 15 years, also taught nightschool, where the ladies did a variety of needlecrafts from dressmaking to machine knitting, embroidery and macrame (to name a few!)
