About The Making House

The Making House, in Burton On Trent, is owned by Anna Roebuck and is designed to encourage people to get making or buying handmade.

At The Making House you'll find
:

  • a welcoming studio space to explore your creative ideas,
  • a gallery space where there will be changing exhibitions and workshops inspired by the work on show,
  • a shop space which sells bags2riches products alongside other recycled, locally handmade and Fair Trade gifts
  •  a space to allow you to show and sell the work you’ve made
  • monthly creative drop in opportunities for the local community

We are open on Fridays and Saturdays 10 -5 pm and any other time by arrangement, just give Anna a call or e.mail.

We offer courses in a variety of crafts and practical skills from jewellery making to sewing. We believe it’s important to create a making and shopping experience that is good for the environment, so many of the courses and products have a focus on recycling, sustainability and  Fair Trade. We hope to get lots of people involved and want to develop a creative community, so we’re welcome to your ideas and also to hiring out the space to encourage people to make and chat.

We can also offer specialist tuition for school groups, (in house or in school), creative parties for young and old and talks on different crafts, sustainability and enterprise. For more details check out our Schools Page or contact us.
