Bezel Setting Stones
Saturday 15th February, 10 - 4.30, £80
This is an advanced silversmithing workshop, you do need to know your silversmithing basics to join Anna on this workshop.
A bezel is a type of setting in which a vertical rim of metal snuggly surrounds a gemstone to securely hold it in place. The bezel setting was one of the earliest methods of setting gemstones into jewelry and you will see many beautiful jewellery designs that use this type of setting.
You can buy ready made bezels for specific stone sizes but it's even better to know how to make your own setting, this means you can set and size and even irregular shapes.
Anna will teach you how to create your own bezel to set a flat stone or found object. You will then go on to incorporate your design in to a pendant or ring.
The price includes all materials, a selection of basic gemstones to choose from and refreshments. As gemstones vary hugely in price there will be some alternative stones too, available to you at cost price or you could bring along your own stone/object to set, but I will guide you on size.
If you have attended either our Silversmithing Course, Silversmithing Club or Silversmithing Saturday workshops in 2020 you are eligible to a £10 discount on the workshop making it £65
