Drink Can Flower Workshop:
On the evening workshop you will learn how to make a couple of different types of drink can flowers as well as the best method for cutting and processing your cans, we will also discuss techniques for speedy mass production so that you can make lots of flowers.

You then have a month to make more flowers ready for the Allium workshop:
To make a good full Allium you will need about 50 flowers, it sounds a lot, but I managed 25 in about 2.5 hours, you have a month to make them! You'll need either 17 smaller 330ml cans or 13 larger 500ml cans to do this.

Turn your flowers into a Drink Can Flower Allium:
Learn various wire forming and metal working techniques and create a wonderful everlasting Allium for your garden. The workshop is a nice way to learn basic metalwork and jewellery making skills and you'll end up with an impressive garden sculpture by the end of the day.

Please note though, the technique is very repetitive, and the wire used for the large Alliums needs to be relatively thick so it may be tiring on your hands, so do bare this in mind if you have any issues with hand strength. You should easily get your allium completed in the day, but if you'd rather take your time, you'll easily be able to finish it off at your own pace at home.

You’ll get a handout to remind you of how to do the basics as well as suggestions for suppliers so you can make more at home.

Price includes all materials, refreshments and a simple home cooked veggy lunch on Saturday 19th July.

The workshop is delivered by Anna Roebuck from The Making House in Burton on Trent; Anna has been delivering specialist workshops for over 18 years and will support you in creating your own amazing piece of artwork in a relaxed setting.

Anna began to develop the wire flowers in response to a Remembrance Day commission and has since gone on to explore making different types of flowers out of wire. She also runs a Wire Poppy workshop which is a great introduction to working with wire and simpler than this one, so it may be worth starting with poppies first.
