Embossed Metal Pictures
Saturday 26th April, 10 - 4.30pm, £65
Learn how to emboss metal and create a decorative hook board, candle sconce or simply a piece of art for your house.
This is a simple, effective and enjoyable technique for creating decorations for your home and even to adorn furniture. You’ll learn a variety of methods and tips for embossing metal and for mounting your work plus ideas for how you could take the technique further at home.
You don’t have to be an amazing artist, Anna will provide you with templates, inspiration sheets and will guide you on what's achievable with this technique as a beginner. Alternatively, you can, of course, create a design of your own. (Do bring along any ideas or inspirational photos)
- In the morning session you'll learn a variety of embossing techniques and be encouraged to experiment and create a series of samples, which you could use on cards or as mini artworks. Together we will then talk about design and planning for the final piece.
- In the afternoon we get serious and create your main piece. You will be guided through how best to create your design to get the best effect. We will talk about traditional patinas and also look at how to antique your work at home with basic materials. Finally, it's time to edge and mount your work.
Price includes all basic materials, refreshments and a homecooked vegetarian lunch. If you would like to work from home online, there's an extra £10 fee to cover postage and the extra tools/materials that you will need on the day, (sadly you have to make your own lunch!)
The workshop is delivered by Anna Roebuck from The Making House in Burton on Trent; Anna has been delivering specialist workshops for over 18 years and will support you in creating your own amazing piece of artwork in a relaxed setting.
Please note: This is an embossed metal technique and not the same as the commercial Art Panels that Anna sells.
