Needle Felt Swallow Workshop, £40
Celebrate the onset of Spring and the return of these wonderful birds by learning to needle felt a stylized swallow in this online workshop.
Saturday 16th March, 10 - 2 pm
This felting workshop is suitable for beginners or people wanting to develop their needle felting skills further. You will be clearly guided through the process and different felting techniques, but, please do remember, it takes time to learn a skill!
Our felting sessions differ from kits in that they enable you to learn the full process of needle felting; how to use your needles properly for different effect, how to create forms and what fibres to use.
Price includes all materials and refreshments.
You'll find flocks of swallows displayed on mass on walls around Portugal, this was where I got my inspiration. As these migratory birds always seek to build their nest in the same place where they previously inhabited, they became a symbol of Family and Home. Over here they are usually associated with love, loyalty and peace, apparently the swallow bird spirit animals are joyful, decisive and full of hope too, so it seemed a great choice to welcome in Spring.
