Col's Crocheted Shawl

This shawl has been specially developed by Colleen Murdoch for this course at The Making House and features motifs such as butterflies and flowers.

New course dates coming for Autumn, please e.mail Anna via if you're interested in this workshops.

This is a 6 session course. Week by week you will learn to follow patterns and charts and to increase the variety of stitches that you use, resulting in a beautiful unique shawl. In the first week a variety of yarns will be available for you to try, as well as hooks. Makers must then buy further yarn to complete their project. Around 300g of 4 ply will be enough to complete this project. Sample shawls in cotton, merino and acrylic will be available to help you decide.

This series of workshops is designed to move crocheters beyond granny squares and blankets. PLEASE NOTE: This course is NOT suitable for beginners, you must know the basics of crochet before embarking on a project like this.

Each week you will get a pattern sample, written pattern part and chart to help you complete each section of your shawl. Completion at home will be required.
In the final week there will be the opportunity to trouble shoot, explore ways to extend and adapt patterns and to have work photographed.
